“But the fact that some geniuses were laughed at does not imply that all who are laughed at are geniuses. They laughed at Columbus, they laughed at Fulton, they laughed at the Wright brothers. But they also laughed at Bozo the Clown.”
Dr. Carl Sagan quotes (American Astronomer, Writer and Scientist, 1934-1996
While cleaning out our storage room my husband found these clown figures and I thought they kinda looked intriguing as good still photo material. It is interesting to me the perspective that comes across when taking a simple picture of a basic item. In its own way it makes it come alive and the eye sees more than just looking at an object. I also couldn't resist shooting some little toes that were still for an unbelievable couple minutes !

I like all of your pictures. Especially the one of the toes.
My mother had that same exact clown! That brought back memories. :-)
I thought about "still toes" too!
The clowns are wonderful!
Hey Angela,
Cool clowns....they all have interesting aspects. The one shows more detail, the other shows some depth of field....anyway good job.
Love the expression of the clowns! they are super cute!
Still life photography is, technically, a collection of artfully arranged inanimate objects so maybe, for a more technically "accurate" still life-you could add some other circus/clown paraphanalia~like balloons, face paint, stuff like that. That would be an awesome still life. Most people do still lifes with fruit, flowers and books. A circus theme would be so cool.
The pictures of the same clown in many different positions really did remind me of the meaning behind still life, good job :)
