Baby Chicks
I had so much fun this week capturing some pictures of baby chicks with Kadence. This was our 3rd visit to the store to view the new chicks and I must say mama allmost caved in and bought one this time for her little boy. Literally the only thing that held my impulsivness in check was my dear hubby's "threats" if I brought one home. It was so much fun to see the different types of babies. They had Geese, chickens, turkeys and ducks all within a week old. Some of then didn't even have there eyes open yet! To me this week CHICKS defined spring time and the possibility of new life. I love the fresh start on life and all the possibilites that await, even a baby chick, at the beginning of life.

Foto Friday: Green
This week has been rather crazy for me as I had to work several days, so my photo contributions are very skim but I really wanted to add a couple for fun. Our friends that live way back in the mountains hosed a St Pattys Party on Wed. and I forgot my camera. So you have a couple pictures of the Irish beer and a crazy party picture of myself , Melissa and Yvonne. I can't say I am too proud of these but they will have to suffice. Happy Green Days internet friends ! Check out Rebecca's Blog to see some more fun with Green.

A helicopter ride through Gallatin Canyon
Women in Flight...for our exciting rider over the Gallatin Valley we all received a commemerative certificate celebrating women flying for 80 yrs. It was such a beautiful clear day so I had a great opportunity to take some ariel views of the valley. We started by Belgrade, continued south towards the canyon and then veered west towards Three Forks/Manhattan until returning back to Belgrade. Heli flying is very exciting and allows the passenger much better views than one would receive in a standard airplane as it can get much lower and closer to the ground. This also allows for more stomach turning excitement and a little more adventure. I was accompanied on our flight by my friend Yvonne (Left) and our Pilot friend Vicki(Middle) .

The Pacific
We have just started watching this series on HBO about the Marines in the Pacific Theatre during WW II. You can watch the trailer for the show on my blog. It is very well done and makes us so thankful for the sacrifices of those that died.
Let us never forget!

Lines in Old houses,Barns & Country Schools
I am very intrigued by the details and character that old buildings hold. I like to imagine the people that lived there before and what things were like. These are some pictures that I took up in the base of the Bridger Mts. close by our friends ranch. The Country Schoolhouse is so adorable and still is in use today with 12-15 kids in attendance. I thought that the lines in the swings were kinda neat with the mountains behind them. I know my post is late this week but I sure had fun taking these pictures to contribute to Renaissance Blog this week.

Early Spring Animals
We had so much fun yesterday visiting our friends ranch and helping feed a new baby calf and colt. Kadence and mom were both covered with mud by the end of the day but we sure had fun hanging out with friends and seeing the new animals. I love seeing new life and how fragile and dependent animals are on their mothers.
It was a beautiful but still very crisp early spring day and it gave me the chance to do some more picture experimenting with my camera. I can see glimpses of winter ending though and that makes us get cabin fever and the need for some quality time outside.
(More pictures to follow from the ranch for Foto Friday challenge on lines.)
